Measuring Effectiveness

Measuring Effectiveness examines how an institution collects, analyzes, and uses information to manage itself and to drive performance improvement. It examines the institution's processes and systems related to:

  • Collection, storage, management, and use of information and data – at the institutional and departmental/unit levels
  • Institutional measures of effectiveness
  • Information and data alignment with institutional needs and directions
  • Comparative information and data
  • Analysis of information and data
  • Effectiveness of information system and processes

Measuring Effectiveness at NTC

NTC's measurement system is multi-dimensional and aimed at learning how well we are performing.  The College's comprehensive Scorecard identifies 4 Key Performance Measures and 13 Quality Indicators.  We measure efficiency and effectiveness by analyzing data gathered through our integrated data base (e.g., learner, finance, curriculum and human resource databases); surveys; financial records; assessment instruments (placement tests, course embedded assessments, program level assessments--both direct and indirect); performance reviews; program efficiency and effectiveness reviews; and feedback from constituency groups.
